After King Abhaya Naga, who murdered his brother and usurped the throne, the son of King Voharika Tissa, Prince Siri Naga, ascended the throne. Since there had already been another king named Siri Naga, he is known as <em data-end="5013" data-start="4991">Siri Naga the Second</em>.</p>

About this king, the <em data-end="5050" data-start="5039">Mahavamsa</em> gives only three verses. Although some kings did not perform deeds worth recording by the chroniclers, it appears that King Siri Naga II did a few important things. One of these was the renovation of the wall around the <em data-end="5287" data-start="5271">Sri Maha Bodhi</em>. Another was building a pavilion on the sand court of the <em data-end="5355" data-start="5346">Bo Tree</em> precincts.</p>

Prince Siri Naga seems to have ascended the throne at an old age.</p>

In a rock inscription at Veheragala, Timbiriwewa, it is mentioned that in the second year after a king named <em data-end="5565" data-start="5548">Mekavana Akhaya</em> ascended the throne, a certain woman named <em data-end="5618" data-start="5609">Anulabi</em> (Anula) made a religious offering. In that inscription, the king referred to as “Puvaya, son of King Sirinaka” is identified. “Puvaya” means “Prithivi Ishwara” (Lord of the Earth). Therefore, this King Sirinaka has been identified as <em data-end="5873" data-start="5853">King Siri Naga II.</em></p>
