King Datiya II
Kingdom of Anuradhapura
456 AC - 459 AC

King Tiritara was able to rule for only a brief period of about two months. Prince Dhatusena challenged him in battle, killed him, and seized the throne. However, Tiritara’s son, Prince Dathiya, fought against Prince Dhatusena, drove him away, and succeeded in claiming the kingship.

Historical records state that Dathiya ruled in Anuradhapura for approximately three years while facing relentless attacks from Prince Dhatusena. Yet, like his father before him, King Dathiya was ultimately unable to escape the threat posed by Dhatusena. In the end, Dathiya too met his death at the hands of Prince Dhatusena.
